Lasers generate precise pulses of energy that are absorbed by the melanin (pigment) of the hair, destroying the surrounding follicle in the process.

Will laser hair removal work for me?
Laser hair removal can be applied to all areas of the body and on all skin types, even tanned or dark skin, with the Cynosure Elite machine used by BRAZILya. Unfortunately, the laser cannot remove gray or platinum blonde hair.

Does laser hair removal work hurt?
For most people, there is minor discomfort during the procedure – similar to a rubber band snap. Slight redness can occur, but this usually subsides within 24 hours.

How many laser hair removal treatments should I expect?
With every treatment there will be less hair re-growth, so it will depend on your desired outcome. Clients are typically very happy with the results after 4-6 treatments, but this varies on the skin tone, hair color, ethnic background, and other factors. During your consultation/test patch we will discuss these variables along with your desired outcome.

How do I prepare for my laser hair removal appointment?
For your first laser hair removal appointment, please shave the area to be treated between 3-5 days prior to your appointment. This provides us with the best opportunity to examine your hair growth. For all treatments following, please shave the day prior to your appointment. The treatment area must be free of makeup lotions, self tanner or any other skin care product.

Can I be tanned?
Please avoid sun exposure as much as possible for at least 4 weeks prior to treatment. We are still able to treat tanned skin but settings would have to be adjusted and it could cause you to require additional treatments, meaning it will take longer to reduce the hair.
